New Statistics of Housing Sales Revealed! | April&May 2022

The new housing sales statistics are revealed officially by the Turkish Statistical Institute. According to the previous months, there are increases in the amounts and statistics. Here are the detailed numbers and more on the topic;

Statistics of April

When compared to the same month of the previous year, housing sales of foreigners climbed by 58.1 percent in April. In other words, the number of buyings grew up to 6,447. By percentage, the housing sales of foreigners became 4.8%.

On the other hand, in the same period of the previous year, house sales to foreigners soared up to 48.9% between January and April. The total number of sales reached 20 thousand 791. By looking at the statistics on the regions, it is possible to say that Istanbul became the first on the list once again. The city had 2 thousand 564 house sales in April. Also, Antalya had one thousand 970 housing sales. Ankara followed Antalya with 333 houses.

Furthermore, about the nationalities; Russian Federation citizens bought one thousand 152 houses. They were followed by the citizens of Iran with 905 houses. Moreover, citizens of Iraq bought 714 houses in April.

Housing Sales to Foreigners | May 2022

In May, foreigners purchased 5,962 homes in total. Thus, compared to the same month of the previous year, sales to foreigners climbed up to 235.7% and had a share of 4.9 percent.
Housing sales to foreigners grew by 70% between January and May compared to the same period the previous year, reaching 26 thousand 753.
Similar to April, most of the housing sales were made to the citizens of the Russian Federation. They bought one thousand 275 houses in total while citizens of Iran bought 736 and Iraqi citizens purchased 617 houses.

The housing sales were from Istanbul, Antalya and Mersin in May. According to the statistics, Istanbul had 2 thousand 451 sales, Antalya had one thousand 885 and Mersin had 264 housing sales.
